Everyone is aware of the drama that took place between Jordan Poole and Draymond Green. The incident unfolded during a practice session in the offseason, with Poole’s trash-talking triggering Green’s temper. Poole, who was taken aback by the question, responded, “Oh, my. It’s tough, bro.“

The whole situation was a huge turning point in Poole’s career as he never seemed to show much growth since his departure from the Warriors in 2023. The guard is having a below-par 2025-26 campaign with the Pelicans as he is currently averaging 14.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists while shooting at a poor 37.3% from the field and 33.8% from three.

The Pelicans are in the midst of a horrendous season. They currently sit at the bottom of the Western Conference standings with a 10-36 record. Their recent loss to the Detroit Pistons extended their losing streak to three games. Poole scored 11 points in nearly 28 minutes from the bench but made just 23.5% of his attempts from the field.

Poole is a dynamic guard who can get hot and cold. He is not an efficient scorer and is a big liability in defense, which has a huge impact on winning. The former champion has seen his role diminish at times under interim head coach James Borrego. The 26-year-old combo guard has been nowhere near what the Pelicans were hoping for when they acquired him in the offseason in exchange for CJ McCollum.
