‘Unguardable’ Luka Doncic predicted to break ‘lot of records’ by Patrick Beverley
Mavs star Luka Doncic has been making the headlines after former NBA star Patrick Beverley issued lavish praise.
Luka Doncic and Patrick Beverley
Dallas Mavericks star man Luka Doncic has plenty of potential to accomplish a lot in his NBA career. Former NBA star Patrick Beverley has played multiple times against Doncic. He knows the caliber the Slovenian star possesses. Before the arrival of his teammate, Kyrie Irving, Doncic was single-handedly carrying the Mavs in the NBA.
Additionally, in just six NBA seasons, Doncic has made five All-NBA First Teams. This demonstrates his blazing start to the league. With his unequaled output in previous seasons, the 2023–24 scoring leader is poised to become one of the NBA’s greatest statistical performers ever. On the ‘Pat Bev Pod,’ Patrick Beverley spoke candidly about his former playoff opponent Doncic.
He's 6'7"-6'8", so you can't put the classic point guard on him because he's too small...He's gonna break a lot of records. Obviously, given health and longevity, at the pace he's going, he's going to break a lot of records.Patrick Beverley via The Pat Bev Podcast
Throughout the previous NBA season, Doncic averaged 33.9 points, 9.8 assists, 9.2 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 0.5 blocks. Notably, this makes it one of the best all-around seasons in League history. With Kyrie Irving on his side, the duo took the Mavericks to the NBA Finals. They are poised to make another push for the title in the upcoming season.
After six seasons, his career average is 28.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.5 blocks. Interstingly, he is among the top five players in NBA history in terms of points per game. Many expect great things to come from Doncic in the coming years. Hence, it remains to be seen in a few years whether Beverly’s words regarding Doncic prove to be right or wrong.
Kevin Garnett believes only Luka Doncic can chase all-time scoring record
Luka Doncic has been one of the best scorers since his arrival in the NBA. He has broken numerous records along the road. Notably, former NBA star Kevin Garnett tipped him to break one of the main records in the sport, the all-time scoring record held by LeBron James.
During an episode of “The Truth & Ticket” podcast, Garnett, who is well-known for his frank and frequently colorful remarks, showed off his admiration for Doncic’s amazing scoring ability.
Listen, Luka is set up to be the only n***a to catch Bron. Nobody wanna say that shit. Listen, Luka is averaging 30, what do you average this year, 33? On one leg, drinking beer, having fun, doing God knows what else.Kevin Garnett via The Truth & Ticket podcast
This is huge coming from a legendary player like Garnett. On the other hand, Doncic does not seem to slow down. He has put in great numbers with the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs star was very close to winning the 2024 NBA title but fell just short in the NBA Finals. It now remains to be seen how Doncic will perform in the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.
