Manchester United drew 0-0 against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the Premier league fixture. This was their 3rd consecutive scoreless draw in all competitions after their 4-0 mauling of Real Sociedad in the Europa league.

Manchester United had the chance to pull clear of Leicester City and get closer to runaway leaders City. However, their inability to create clear cut chances meant they remained level on points with Leicester and 14 points off City at the top.

United face Manchester City next in the derby

Ole Gunnar Solskjær has admitted Manchester United’s lack of cutting edge in attack is a sign of “worry”. United managed one shot on target against Palace in a lacklustre display, despite having Cavani back to lead the line.

“Of course you are not happy if you don’t create enough chances to win a game,” Solskjær said. “It’s been a week with no goals and sometimes three games without scoring sounds like a lot.

It’s a bit of a worry but because we play every few days I know the boys are giving everything. Attitude and approach I’m very happy with but the quality we need to get back to what we know we can do.

“The tempo was missing; once in a while it happens. It wasn’t one of our best nights, that’s for sure. Roy Hodgson always sets his teams up to be really hard to play against and it just showed again tonight. We just have to find a spark again, the quality again and try and win the games.”

United need to find a way to get out of their scoreless run if they are to pose any threat to runaway leaders City in the upcoming derby.
