The 2025 Royal Rumble PLE was main evented by the Men’s Rumble Match. This was said to be the biggest match of its kind ever, featuring huge superstars like John Cena, Roman Reigns, and CM Punk. Thus, it was highly shocking to see Jey Uso come out on top when all was said and done and punch his ticket to WrestleMania.
Uso posted a TikTok video of himself walking towards Gorilla after his victory in the main event. He cut a passionate promo. The former Intercontinental Champion declared that it was his time now. He had proudly represented his culture, and now it was time for him to put the company on his back. When he reached backstage, he was greeted by his brother, Jimmy Uso, and the twins shared a heartfelt embrace.
Uso entered the men’s Royal Rumble at number 20. He spent nearly 37 minutes in this match. During this time, he was able to eliminate United States Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura, as well as his best friend, Sami Zayn, from the match. Eventually, it was just the Samoan against John Cena after Logan Paul was thrown out by the Hollywood actor.

The two superstars had a one-on-one contest that lasted a few minutes. They found themselves standing on the ring apron. Uso went for a superkick, but Cena was able to grab onto the ring rope so that he didn’t fall. The Cenation leader picked up his opponent for an AA, but the latter slipped out, pushed his opponent, and the 10x Tag Team Champion won the Royal Rumble.
Who will Jey Uso challenge at WrestleMania 41?
Following his victory in the main event, Jey Uso gets to choose between facing Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Championship or Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. It appears that fans need not wait too long, as the former Intercontinental Champion has already made his choice.
Speaking at the post-show press conference, the 39-year-old revealed that while he was coming into the match, he had his mind set on challenging Gunther. Even after winning the Royal Rumble, it seems like his mind hasn’t changed. He still wants another shot at the Ring General. The Austrian also penned down his thoughts on X after this statement, saying that he wouldn’t do so if he was in Uso’s shoes.
Uso has lost against Gunther thrice in marquee match-ups. He had already failed to challenge for the Intercontinental Championship twice. His most recent loss came at Saturday Night’s Main Event when he failed to capture the World Heavyweight Championship. Following this loss, the Ring General said that the score was 3-0 now, and the Samoan should stay away. Perhaps, fourth time could be the charm for him at the Showcase of the Immortals.
