Dakota Kai, Former Women’s Tag Team Champion was sidelined in WWE due to an ACL injury. Although she is part of the program and often seen supporting WWE Women’s Champions Iyo Sky and Bayley, she will be out of action for 3 more months. Kai will miss the overseas tour but shared an emotional Instagram message to support her teammates.

Dakota Kai took to Instagram and wished her teammates good luck from her home. She said she will join them when she’s clear and ready to perform in the ring again. After her release from the WWE, Kai joined the company again when she returned at SummerSlam 2022 with Iyo and Bayley to form Damage CTRL. She also found success when she became 2 times Women’s Tag Team Champions with Iyo.

Dakota’s injury came from a tag team match with Bayley on SmackDown in May. Unfortunately, she tore her ACL and has been out since then. The Captain of Team Kick has made some progress and is healing. However, she will have to wait until she can get the clearance to fight.

Dakota Kai’s SummerSlam return was possible because of Bayley and a creative power change

Dakota Kai was a regular superstar in WWE NXT and often fought in the dark matches on the main roster before her release. After a month of absence, she made her return to Summerslam with Bayley and Iyo Sky. But the people responsible for her return to the company are Bayley and Triple H.

Kai made an appearance on WWE’s The Bump and said the idea of forming a team didn’t happen overnight. It was in both Kai and Bayley’s mind for a long time. Kai’s SummerSlam return was also decided at the last minute when Bayley talked with Triple H and convinced him to bring back Kai. Kai was always thankful to Bayley for taking her under her wing.

Kai will likely make her return in early 2024 where she will reunite with her teammates. Fans are already excited to know what her next storyline will be. Some fans predicted she would be in the Tag Team division with Bayley, while others predicted she could turn against her friend Iyo Sky and challenge her for the WWE Women’s championship.
