UP Warriorz’s Alyssa Healy and Tahlia McGrath starred against Mumbai Indians on Sunday (March 12) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Although Saika Ishaque once again displayed her terrific bowling that didn’t stop Healy and McGrath from scoring runs and taking the team’s total to a challenging 159/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

UP Warriorz skipper Alyssa Healy won the toss and opted to bat first. Healy along with Devika Vaidya opened for UP but couldn’t give them a good start because Saika Ishaque once again struck earlier. In the second over, she got rid of Vaidya.

Their second wicket fell after a small partnership between Kiran Navgire and Healy when Amelia Kerr got rid of the former in the seventh over. Later, Tahlia McGrath and Healy were saved from faltering but later Saikia Ishaque dismissed the two in the same over to bring back Mumbai Indian back to the game.

But Saikia Ishaque dismissed the two batters in the 17th over. On the third ball, Ishaque bowled it on off and Healy tried to reverse sweep but failed to connect the ball. The ball then hit her pad and the umpire’s finger raised up. The review also didn’t save Healy and she departed after scoring 58 runs from 46 balls with seven boundaries and a six.

On the fifth ball, Ishaque dismissed Tahlia McGrath when she pitched it fully and McGrath tried to drive but missed it completely. Keeper Yastika Bhatia quickly picked it up and removed the bails. McGrath had scored 50 runs from 37 balls with nine fours.

Mumbai Indians have started their run chase and once again, their openers Healy Matthews and Yastika Bhatia gave a fiery start to the innings by stitching 40 runs in five overs. Though Healy was dismissed by Sophie Ecclestone off lbw, it was Bhatia who is playing a scintillating knock. She has already smacked six fours in her unbeaten 19-ball 28 runs.
