WWE will present its first edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event of 2025 tomorrow, airing live nationwide at 8/7c on NBC. One of the special guests previously expected to appear on the show was none other than Hulk Hogan. The Hulkster was heavily factored into the promotional hype packages for the event.
However, as per PWInsider, Hogan wouldn’t travel to San Antonio for Saturday Night’s Main Event. But why is that so? It’s because his son, Nick Hogan, 34, is getting married this weekend. It blows off the speculation regarding WWE holding back on plans for Hogan after he was recently booed at by the fans on the Netflix premiere of Raw.
There were some rumblings among the netizens yesterday when Jesse “The Body” Ventura confirmed that he’ll be a part of SNME in Texas. The WWE Hall of Famer quelled the rumors of his no-show at the event, as some had anticipated it because Hulk Hogan was supposedly set to be there.
For the unversed, Ventura and Hogan still have unresolved issues dating back to their heyday in the 1990s. Nonetheless, the WWE Universe is elated for Jesse’s return to Saturday Night’s Main Event—a wrestling tradition that used to be synonymous with his name. On the other hand, The Hulkster will be there for his son’s nuptials.
The former six-time WWE Champion recently became a grandfather. His daughter, Brooke, gave birth to a set of twins on January 15. A few days ago, the 71-year-old wrestling icon was on Fox News. On account of Donald Trump‘s Inauguration Day euphoria, his staunch Hogan was on cloud nine. The WWE great once again tore off his clothing on national television to reveal a “Trumpamania” shirt.
What is set for Saturday Night’s Main Event?
Taking into account the two-hour runtime of Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE has loaded up the card. First off, Gunther will defend his World Heavyweight title against Jey Uso. In another one of its kind, Rhea Ripley is set to square off against Nia Jax for the Women’s World title.
Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker has a tough one on the cards as he braces himself for a title defense against Sheamus. In the only non-title bout of the night, Jacob Fatu and Braun Strowman are set to collide for the first time ever.
Also, local hero Shawn Michaels will moderate a contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens for their WWE title ladder match at the Royal Rumble. It’d be interesting to see how everything pans out just a week before the big-4 WWE PLE.
