At one point, CM Punk and Seth Rollins were destined to battle it out at WrestleMania XL. However, those plans were stalled once Punk tore his triceps at this year’s Royal Rumble. As a result, Rollins’ Mania plans were restructured, which saw him pull off double duty. But when will these two resume beefing on WWE television? Well, not anytime soon.

As per PWInsider, there’s a chance that Punk and Rollins might not come within touching distance until at least next year. The belief within the company is that they’re at a much better level now in terms of laying out long-term plans. But why have such calls been made? It’s not that tedious to discern the rationale behind this. As the fans know, Seth Rollins was recently written off TV following a brutal beatdown on Raw.

In the aftermath, it was learned that Seth had chronic issues in his body. And now he’ll take a break to heal up. What it also does is allow CM Punk to solely focus on Drew McIntyre. They’ve been at daggers drawn since the beginning of this year. At SummerSlam, the Scot got the better of Punk, who must be ruing getting into Rollins’ face.

The Best in the World’s ill-timed bickering with Seth cost him dearly. Before being grounded by a Claymore Kick from Drew, Punk did put Rollins through his patented finishing maneuver, the GTS. The fans will hope to see more of it when the Chicagoan renews his malice for The Visionary. A safe bet to take on the expected battleground for Punk vs. Rollins would be WrestleMania 41. WWE seems to be all hands on deck in terms of putting up the card for their biggest event of 2025.

CM Punk made up for SummerSlam loss on this week’s Raw

This week’s Raw must’ve pleased CM Punk. After all, he kept Drew McIntyre in the dark about his whereabouts the entire night. And eventually, the 45-year-old caught McIntyre off guard, followed by a vicious belt treatment. Punk was swinging at anything that moved, but Drew’s back got the worst of it.

After the show, The Scottish Warrior showed off those ugly scars he picked up from that assault. McIntyre will now be looking to return the favor to the former AEW star. He would get an opportunity to do so at Bash in Berlin.

As reported earlier, Punk and Drew are set for a strap match come August 31. The Second City Saint recently underwent stem cell therapy. That would’ve shrugged off any laceration he had coming off a physical match at SummerSlam.
