After getting past a stiff challenge from her compatriot Misaki Doi, fourth-seed Naomi Osaka will have another tough competition at her hands when she faces Camila Giorgi in a second-round match at the US Open 2020. The 2018 US Open champion will have to be at her best in order to beat Giorgi.
Talking about the performance in the first round, it was evident that Osaka was struggling due to hamstring injury that forced her to withdraw from the final at the Cincinnati Open. The World No.9 had a tough time on the court and needed three sets to scrap past Misaki Doi 6-2, 5-7, 6-2. It would be interesting to see whether the 22-year old Japanese will be 100 percent fit in her next match.
Similarly, Camila Giorgi had to battle hard in her opening contest at Flushing Meadows, though she has no injury issues. The 28-year old Italian lost the first set before making a comeback to defeat Alison Van Uytvanck 2-6, 6-1, 7-5.

There are some fireworks expected during the match. The extent of injury to Osaka can determine whether the match will culminate inside two sets or it will go to the distance.
