US Open Women’s Final 2025: Aryna Sabalenka vs. Amanda Anisimova Preview, Prediction, and Live Stream Details
Even with being the top seed, Aryna Sabalenka won't be seen as the heavy favorite to win her matchup against fellow US Open finalist Amanda Anisimova.

Aryna Sabalenka will once again be playing a Grand Slam final this season. She came from a set down to end Jessica Pegula‘s campaign in the semifinal with scores of 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 and reached the US Open final for the third consecutive time.
But next, she will be playing someone against whom she doesn’t hold a good head-to-head record. She has scheduled the final against Amanda Anisimova, who, just like her, overcame a set deficit to end the campaign of four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka 6-7(4), 7-6(3), 6-3.

Aryna Sabalenka vs. Amanda Anisimova: Match Preview
Aryna Sabalenka has achieved the most success this season so far in women’s tennis, now reaching eight finals and winning three titles. Those finals include her appearance at the Australian Open and the French Open, where she failed to beat Madison Keys and Coco Gauff, respectively.

The three titles she lifted were at the Brisbane International, the Miami Open, and the Madrid Open. Apart from these tournaments and the first two Majors, she played in the summit clashes at Indian Wells and in Stuttgart, losing those matches to Mirra Andreeva and Jelena Ostapenko.
Before arriving in New York, she failed to defend her title at the Cincinnati Masters, losing in the quarterfinals to Elena Rybakina. At the US Open so far, Sabalenka has dropped only one set, that too in the semifinals against Pegula.
But Anisimova has dropped two sets- against an unseeded Jaqueline Cristian in the third round and one against Osaka. Anisimova will be playing the fourth final of the season after the Qatar Open, Queen’s Club Championships, and Wimbledon.
In Doha, she breezed past Ostapenko to take home her career’s first WTA 1000 title, but ended up losing at the Queen’s to Tatjana Maria and suffered a 6-0, 6-0 humiliation against World No.2 Iga Swiatek at Wimbledon.
Anisimova took her revenge by knocking the six-time Grand Slam champion out of the US Open with a straight-set win in the quarterfinals. Before playing her home Grand Slam tournament, Anisimova lost both the WTA 1000 events on the North American hard court swing without reaching the quarterfinals.
Aryna Sabalenka vs. Amanda Anisimova: Match Prediction
Anisimova has reached back-to-back Grand Slam finals, and also her first at the US Open. Before this season, she had never made it past the third round here.

Sabalenka, however, has now played five consecutive semifinals in New York. In the last two US Open finals, she lost to Coco Gauff in 2023 but beat Jessica Pegula in the following season. The Belarusian ace has also reached her seventh Grand Slam singles final.
Anything can happen in the final. Sabalenka will not be entering the final as the heavy favorite, given that she trails 3-6 in the head-to-head matchups against the upcoming opponent. But she has a lot of experience playing in the last stages of the US Open and against the home favorites.
They will also be facing each other for the first time at the US Open. Prior to this, they met twice at the Australian Open and Roland Garros and once at Wimbledon. In the Majors too, Anisimova edges the three-time Grand Slam singles champion 3-2.
Match prediction: Aryna Sabalenka to win in three sets.
