American ATP stars Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe will entertain the home crowd when they face each other in the third round at the 2024 US Open. The two players also last met at Flushing Meadows last year, when Shelton won the contest and became the youngest American to reach the US Open semifinals since Michael Chang in 1992.

The two players are meeting a tad early this time but that does not mean there will be less intensity from either player. When Shelton was asked about his matchup with countryman Tiafoe, the 21-year-old said that he was expecting another ‘popcorn type’ match.

Shelton leads his countryman 2-0 in the head-to-head record. Apart from defeating Tiafoe in the US Open quarterfinals last year, he also took him down in the Houston final this year. Now, the two players gear up for another Grand Slam clash and it is expected to be a thriller.
