Conor McGregor was angry with fellow countryman Paul Hughes for befriending Bellator rival Usman Nurmagomedov and his camp. The Nurmagomedov lineage and their most decorated fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov, does irk “The Notorious” to great lengths. Now, after the Champions Series: Road to Dubai (Series 6) event, McGregor and his tantrums get some befitting feedback.
Bellator lightweight champ Usman Nurmagomedov defeated Hughes via majority decision in January. The young Irishman showed some upfront camaraderie, saying he’s not like the ‘other guy’ (McGregor) and would not diss them. McGregor himself showered stern accusations on “Big News” Hughes for it, labeling him as traitorous. Usman Nurmagomedov recently spoke on the bizarre turn of events.
Honestly, it was crazy, …Paul is good guy. We spoke with him a little bit. He’s a really good guy.

No longer looking up to the man McGregor is now, Paul Hughes’ reaction to the situation was one of dismissal. Meanwhile, Nurmagomedov (19-0) finds the whole ordeal bonkers after PFL Champions Series: Road to Dubai. A ‘less than humble‘ disposition, the Dagestani star takes the war to “Notorious” instead of catching flame.
Subsequently, he’d have reason to; McGregor is hardly MMA’s white knight anymore. McGregor is to pay €1,000 in fine for a 2019 assault of Desmond Keogh in a Dublin pub. The Dublin civil court found him guilty of assault on Nikita Hand in 2018, which kicked up a charge levy just upward of €248,000 in damages (£206,000 /$260,000 all-in).
Nurmagomedov doesn’t care all that much for him. But, to his point, he said McGregor should hold himself to higher standards as he still has a very large fan following.
Usman Nurmagomedov critiques Conor McGregor’s lifestyle
Nurmagomedov, 26, is always on point to admit that he’s not perfect. But because of the platform he has, the Bellator champion is striving to be a better person for the fans who are following his career. Usman Nurmagomedov comes from a dominant Dagestani MMA dynasty; one that is years in the making.

After the Champions Series: Road to Dubai event, Nurmagomedov has been witness to quite the havoc. Unlike his devout principles, Conor McGregor stands tall with his brazen tweet spree. McGregor even bashed compatriot Paul Hughes’ Northern Irish link, with an attack on his background.
The Irishman has taken the purport of his hates and all such things to another level. Nurmagomedov has taken to liking Paul Hughes and his fighting spirit after their gritty war, as did the MMA clique who lauded the title challenger. Hence, he advises McGregor to be better under the watchful gaze of Irish fans.
This is hard time for people, to be honest, and you have to be a good example, …Because everyone right now living on the phone, on the media they’re watching, they’re following. When you show these people some bad examples, this is very bad. You have to understand, brother, a lot of people watching you.
Usman Nurmagomedov further said
Nurmagomedov won a close and competitive majority decision, with the scorecards reading 47-47, 48-46 and 48-46. Although he retained his belt, Nurmagomedov said he was only a fraction of himself in the cage.
For him, training in Dagestan while most of his team trained at AKA in San Jose was a major preparation issue. Now, though, the lightweight fighter will be reading ahead to better option. One particular part of which would fundamentally be to steer away from the McGregor drama.
