Utah Jazz avenge loss with 111-97 win over LA Lakers as Gobert, Conley return
Jordan Clarkson
As Jazz got their stars back to play the 2nd game against LA Lakers, both Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley’s presence seemed to be enough as Jazz cruised past LA Lakers 111-97. Jordan Clarkson led the away team with 22 points, while Joe Ingles had 21 points and Bojan Bogdanovic scored 19 points as NBA-leading Utah avenged the Lakers’ 127-115 overtime victory previously.
Talking about the LA Lakers, Talen Horton Tuckers scored career best and game high 24 points. Kyle Kuzma scored all of his 17 points in the first three quarters for Los Angeles and Dennis Schröder had 15 points and 6 assists. The LA Lakers have alternated wins and losses for 12 consecutive games since March 28.

“I think we kind of gave in a little bit,” Kyle Kuzma said as per ESPN. “On the offensive end, shots really didn’t fall, and a couple of bad possessions led to a lack of effort on the defensive end — guys getting open 3s, Rudy Gobert getting a couple of dunks, guys getting downhill a little bit easier.”
Jordan Clarkson hit 9 of his 14 shots and Ingles went 8 for 11 against the NBA’s top defensive team for Utah Jazz, which never trailed in its fifth victory in seven games. The Jazz doubled their halftime lead to 20 points in the third quarter with 13 from Ingles, who hit three 3-pointers in that stretch.
“I thought we came out with a good focus at the beginning of the game,” Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder said. “Any time we play a team and we build a little bit of a lead, we know they’re going to raise their level. That’s a good performance for us.”
