In an outrageous display of power-hitting, Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed a 32-ball hundred for India ‘A’, in a match against UAE in the 2025 Rising Stars Asia Cup. Suryavanshi’s ton helped the Men in Blue post a total of 297 runs, matching a record similar to that of the senior team.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been one of the most-talked about players, since he made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals this summer, against Lucknow Super Giants. He became the youngest to play in the competition, at the age of just 14 years and 23 days. Playing against the likes of some of the fiercest pacers in world cricket, the young batter left fans mesmerized with his brilliant stroke-playing abilities.

He scored 252 runs in just seven matches in his inaugural IPL season, at an average of 36 and a strike-rate of 206.56, including a masterful 35-ball hundred against Gujarat Titans, making him the second-fastest centurion in the competition’s history. Suryavanshi seems to have continued with his exploits in the ongoing ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup, having scored an unbelievable century off 32 balls against UAE.

The 14-year-old India ‘A’ star finished with 144 runs off 42 balls in the end of the first innings, with his knock comprising 11 fours and 15 sixes, at a strike rate of 342.86. He set the record for the joint third-fastest hundred by an Indian player in the shortest format, and was in line to become the first to hit a double-century in T20 cricket, until he was dismissed in the 13th over by Muhammad Farazuddin.

Suryavanshi’s innings was also the fourth-highest score by an Indian in T20s, as he guided India ‘A’ to a massive first innings total of 297/4 in 20 overs. The 14-year-old forged a 163-run 2nd wicket partnership with Naman Dhir, while captain Jitesh Sharma scored an 83-run knock off just 32 balls. The team raced to the record-breaking total, which marked another historic milestone, the joint fifth-highest in T20 cricket history, numbers that caught attention even on platforms like 4rabet.

Suryavanshi dispatched the UAE bowlers all around the stadium. He later credited his father for the innings, emphasizing that his father’s strict demeanor and focus-driven approach were key to maintaining his concentration while batting.

Suryavanshi scored 144 runs off 42 balls, to take India to a first-innings total of 297/5. While the team did lose Priyansh Arya’s wicket early into the innings, the teenager carried the team to a record-breaking total. Naman Dhir scored 34 runs off 23 balls, while captain Jitesh Sharma contributed with 83 runs off just 32 balls, hitting eight boundaries and six maximums, at an impressive strike-rate of 259.38.

In bowling, India ‘A’ managed to restrict UAE to just 149/7, ultimately winning the match by a margin of 148 runs. Sohaib Khan put in a strong effort, hitting 63 runs off 41 balls with the help of three boundaries and six maximums, but it went in vain, as he team felt way short in chasing the target. Meanwhile, Indian pacer Gurjapneet Singh scalped a three-wicket haul, while Harsh Dubey picked two wickets.

India ‘A’ will next take on arch-rivals Pakistan in its second group stage encounter, on November 8. The Men in Blue will end its group stage campaign by facing off against Oman on November 18, following which the competition would proceed to the knock-out stages.
