Valentino Rossi, nine time Grand Prix champion is arguably one of the greatest sportsman of all time. The Italian has won seven titles in the premier Moto GP class, but has managed to secure just four points from the first three races this season.
However, the 42-year old is confident of fighting it out for the title this season, despite not being at the peak of his powers. The Italian is in the midst of his 26th year in professional racing, and draws inspiration from the likes of his fellow sportspersons. Rossi revealed that he admires the likes of Roger Federer and Zlatan Ibrahimović, who continue to impress, despite nearing the end of their careers.
Valentino Rossi praises Roger Federer
Valentino Rossi heaped praise on Roger Federer, stating that he was his number one inspiration. He hopes to cheer the Swiss maestro at the Wimbledon Championships this year. Federer will turn 40 in August this year, and is determined to keep going on the tour, despite struggling with a knee injury last year.
“My number 1 inspiration is Roger Federer. I adore his game and the way he carries himself. Federer continues to compete even at this age and will cheer for him to win the Wimbledon crown again. There are others such as Tom Brady and Zlatan Ibrahimovic who inspire me as well, but Federer is the one who tops the list,” said Rossi.
Roger Federer will return to action at the Geneva Open, which will be played next month. The Swiss will also compete at the French Open 2021, and is expected to regain his full match-fitness before Wimbledon Championships.
