How to claim ‘Keep it Safer’ Gun Buddy in Valorant

Harbor

Valorant has dropped its latest patch 5.08, calling it Episode 5 Act 3 along with introducing a host of other changes. This time around, Valorant has released its new India based agent Varun Batra, codenamed Harbor, along with introducing a few other cosmetic changes. However, one of the primary sources of revenue for Riot developers come from Valorant gun skins and other cosmetic products, so Valorant deciding to go charitable on it’s ‘Keep it Safer’ gun buddy this time is raising quite a few eyebrows.

The Keep it Safer Gun Buddy will be available for those who enable the two factor verification, or the 2FA, the basic authentication over Riot platforms. As a method of rewarding, Riot is giving out this gun buddy to spread awareness about account thefts and instruct people to keep their accounts safe.

How to Claim ‘Keep it Safer’ Gun Buddy

Follow the steps given below to enable the two-factor authentication and claim the gun buddy:

  • Open web browser and visit Riot Games’ official site to log in or just click here.
  • Enter your login details and Sign in.
  • Once in your account, scroll down to the area that mentions Two-Factor Authentication. There will be a field here that says email and a gray button that reads “Enable.”
  • Click on Enable, and now you should get a notification that says that an email has been sent to your registered email account.
  • Log on to your registered email account and look for the email with the subject “Enable Two-Factor Authentication” from Riot Games.
  • In the mail, you have to click on the big red button that says “Enable Two-Factor Authentication.”
  • After clicking the red button you will see a new window open confirming that the “Two-Factor Authentication” was enabled successfully.

After enabling the two-factor verification, all that is needed to open the game again and log into it. You will have your brand new gun buddy waiting. However, for those who had earlier enabled the 2FA, they will have to go through the process again to claim the cosmetic. There was a glitch that did not assign the gun Buddy to the concerned account, but that has been taken care of in the Latest patch 5.08.
