Normally, Venus Williams is associated with Serena Williams, being her older sister. However, if you are a tennis lover, you must be aware of Venus Williams from the perspective of having won 7 Grand Slams of which five are the prestigious Wimbledon Championship.
However, tennis is not the only field that the American excels at.
Richard Williams, the man and the father behind two of the sport’s most fierce and successful tennis players the Williams sisters, played a crucial in molding his daughters into the champions of today.
In a bid to giveback to their generous and supportive father, Venus started an interior design company, named V Starr in 2002.

Besides tennis, the two-time US Open winner also took considerable interest in the field of interior design.
The American star wanted to make her parents proud. Hence in 2002, Venus gave in to her entrepreneurial spirit, which she also gets from her father who has been a key influence in their early struggles.
“I started V Starr to make my parents proud. I had a great upbringing and they instilled in me a work ethic, confidence, balance, and belief. All of these things they taught me were the catalyst. My father gave me an entrepreneurial spirit. He used to play foreclosure tapes [teaching how one could make money off of foreclosed properties] for me and Serena in the car on the way to tennis,” Venus said.
However, the former World No.1 revealed that the setting up process of the firm was not an easy task at all. The beginning is always the toughest, and so was it for Williams whose first client was a basketball player.
She said, “It was tough, of course, in the beginning. You have to hire the right people and it took me a minute to find a team that synced. It’s tough to get that first client. Our first big project was for a basketball player and we were just so happy.”
Tennis vise, Venus did not pull off anything special to take away from this year. The all-time tennis great, failed to make it past the first rounds of the Australian Open, US Open, and the French Open.
