Can anyone dare leaving Vince McMahon hanging for something? Maybe not always, but once in a blue moon is a safe bet. Former host of WWE: The Bump, Matt Camp, recently disclosed an interesting story regarding current NXT commentator Vic Joseph not tuning up with McMahon. It transpired backstage at Hell in a Cell about five years ago, in 2019. Camp, furnishing the details via his YouTube channel, said he and Joseph had gone to catering.

It was abutting the gorilla position. Camp and Joseph encountered Vince McMahon on their way up the ramp to the gorilla. Back then, Vic Joseph used to be the play-by-play commentator for Monday Night Raw. Anyway, as they were sliding beside Vince, the latter prodded to sync a high five with the then-voice of the red brand. However, Joseph blew him off, leaving McMahon and Camp, who was still a greenhorn in WWE at that juncture.

Matt had no idea what to say as the former WWE Chairman asked him whether Vic didn’t see whom he had shunned. As a result, the 78-year-old ill-famed business tycoon summoned all the commentators that night. The actual pay-per-view was in itself a kick in the teeth for McMahon and his team. The main event featured Seth Rollins defending his Universal title against “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt, inside the Hell in a Cell structure.

Vince is coming the other way. Vince is skipping, he's giddy. He goes to high five Vic, and Vic blows him off. Now it's me and Vince. I'm there a month. I'm going, 'Uhhh.' He doesn't know I'm there and he keeps going.

The match ended in a disqualification, and the Sacramento crowd in attendance was piqued. Several AEW chants rang out over that dubious conclusion to the PPV. To picture that, how can there even be a DQ inside HIAC? Wyatt’s alter-ego failed to win the gold, much to the exasperation of the fans.

MJF mentioned Vince McMahon during AEW Double or Nothing

Long gone are the days when Vince McMahon used to have a menacing influence on WWE’s creative. He’s even been ousted from his executive holding in TKO, relegating him to paltry shares. McMahon’s name might have become forbade on WWE programming, not in AEW.

Last Sunday, at Double or Nothing, a returning MJF namedropped Vinnie Mac. It’s just one of the many instances where Vince caught a stray on AEW television. He’s currently not in the public domain. The Genetic Jackhammer was accused of se*ual trafficking by former employee Janel Grant.

Despite the heinous allegations levied on him, the defendant hasn’t been convicted of any charge. There’s been enough back-and-forth from both the plaintiff’s and Vince’s camp. As things stand, it’s pretty much a stalemate.
