Victor Wembanyama gives SCARY warning to the world after losing gold medal to Team USA at Olympics

San Antonio Spurs star, Victor Wembanyama has certainly been one of the hottest young names in the NBA. In his rookie season, Wembanyama showed the blueprints of a future all-time great. He had a great rookie season overall highlighted by winning the Rookie of the Year unanimously. After which Wemby was representing France in his first Olympics this year. Wembanyama had one of the most impressive Olympic debuts. At the age of 20, he carried the whole France team on his shoulders.
France managed to have one of the great runs in the Olympics. They were one of the tougher teams entering the main stage of the tournament. France cruised through the group and knockout stages with Wembanyama leading the charge. Eventually reaching the finals and were one step behind from winning the gold medal. But France came up short against the USA in an intense game.
After the game, Victor Wembanyama became emotional and was seen in tears. Post game Wembanyama spoke with Mike Finger of the San Antonio Express-News. In the interview, he talked about his growth and the potential future. Moreover, he issued a warning to the future competition and stated that he is worried about his opponents.
Even after Team USA were the favorites in the finals, Wembanyama and the French team were having none of it. The game was thrilling, with both teams going at each other from the start. But in the end, USA managed to come up at the top and get the victory.
Victor Wembanyama had a great debut run in the Olympics
During the game against the USA, Wemby certainly delivered to all extents. He was great at scoring and also a great defensive stopper. Wembanyama was even the leading scorer in the finals as he recorded 26 points and seven rebounds in the finals thriller. France’s team provided great support to the young rookie but it was not enough to take down USA.
As such, Wembanyama won the silver medal in his Olympic debut. Now, Wemby has vowed to come back stronger from this defeat at the hands of Team USA. His strength of character will be tested in the coming years, both in the NBA and FIBA competitions. Moreover, he would look to exact revenge on Team USA on their home ground during the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028.
