The Spurs played the Portland Trail Blazers in their most recent matchup at the AT&T Center. Wembanyama dropped a monstrous performance on the TrailBlazers and secured a 114-94 win for his side.

Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs to their second consecutive victory and fourth in the last five games with a 30-10 line. Wembanyama tied his career high with 10 blocks and scored 30 points. The Spurs’ 13-2 run late in the second quarter helped them take a 16-point lead at the half, turning a competitive game into a resounding victory.

This left the NBA community stunned, offering immense praise for the Spurs star. One fan went to the extent of labeling him the DPOY of this season. The fan wrote on X, “Should’ve won DPOY last year, gonna win DPOY this year.” That said, if the young French phenom continues to perform in this fashion, his name will surely be considered for the 2024 DPOY.

Wembanyama is the only player under 21 to record several games with double-figure blocks since the NBA started recording blocks in 1974. He is also the first player in NBA history to record four three-pointers and ten blocks in a single game. In addition to Wemby, the Spurs had Devin Vassell with 11 points and Charles Bassey with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
