Nathalie Tauziat, former World No.3 and the current coach of Victoria Mboko, has outlined the team’s goals for the teenage sensation. This interview comes days after Mboko’s historic Canadian Open title win.

After Roland Garros, when we defined the schedule up to the US Open, we set some goals. With the way she is playing, we know she is capable of achieving something big in New York. We want to focus 100% on that tournament, arrive well-prepared and injury-free. After Montreal, it was crucial to manage the schedule well, so we are not going to Cincinnati.
Mboko has withdrawn from the Cincinnati Open following fatigue from the Canadian Open. The teenager was unsure that she would be physically fit to compete in the final, but now she wants an extended time off to prepare for the US Open.
She is the third new women’s Masters 1000 winner of 2025. She has followed Mirra Andreeva and Amanda Anisimova in this list.
