Alexander Bublik and Corentin Moutet engaged in a fiery verbal exchange during their match at the Phoenix Challenger. The two faced each other in the quarterfinal of the tournament.
At one point during the match, when Bublik was serving, Moutet said that he wasn’t ready. “I don’t give a sh*t,” was the reply from the Kazakh ace. Bublik eventually went on to win the match in three sets but during the customary handshake, the two once again engaged in a verbal altercation.
At that time, what they told each other at the net wasn’t known. A video has now surfaced on social media where Bublik could be seen challenging Moutet to fight outside the court to settle things off.
Do you want to fight? Meet me outside in 10 minutes.
Alexander Bublik said
As the altercation was about to escalate, the supervisor intervened. The Frenchman started to laugh and Bublik once again went on a tirade before walking away.
The French kid is speaking and he doesn’t want to fight. Let’s go, we meet in 10 minutes outside.

Jack Sock addresses the Alexander Bublik, Corentin Moutet controversy
Jack Sock, the former ATP player from America, discussed the incident involving Alexander Bublik and Corentin Moutet during the latest episode of the Nothing Major podcast. The 32-year-old thinks Bublik, who has often stirred controversy due to his on-court tantrums, would have fought right away if the supervisor had not intervened.

He offered it, Bublik said let’s go to the parking lot! He said, ‘Do you want to goโฆ we can go to the parking lot right nowโฆ.He goes, ‘Do you wanna fight?’ And Corentin Moutet, like, started laughing as if it wasโฆ but I think Bublik was like ready to take the gloves off and go.
Jack Sock said
When the video of Bublik inviting Moutet for a fight went viral, the latter too had come across the tweet. He took to X to add fuel to the fire, taking a brutal jibe at Bublik.
People are different in front of the camera and behind the camera. Real knows I wonโt say more about this. Real knows.

Bublik soon had to shake off the incident to focus on his semifinal match against Nuno Borges which he won in straights to set up a final clash with Joao Fonseca. The Brazilian, who last year clinched the Next Gen ATP Finals title and won his first ATP trophy at the Argentina Open this season, won the final in straight sets.
Corentin Moutet and Alexander Bublik are playing at the Miami Open
Both Corentin Moutet and Alexander Bublik will try to forget the heated exchange to focus on the Miami Open, which is underway at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. They are not seeded in the tournament as Bublik and Moutet are No.80 and No.76 players, respectively.

Both the players have played their first-round matches. Moutet kick-started his campaign with a straight-set win over Alexander Blockx; while Bublik secured a straight-set win over Sebastian Baez.
In his next match, Moutet will lock horns with Alejandro Tabilo against whom, he is 0-1 as the Chilean clinched the win in their first meeting in Santiago last year. Bublik, on the other hand, is set to lock horns with Tommy Paul.
The American is 2-0 against Bublik. They had previously met at the 2021 Rotterdam Open and the 2024 Wimbledon. Both Bublik and Moutet have yet to win an ATP title this season.
