(Video) Anthony Davis mocks cocky fans over ‘traffic’ after eliminating Kings
Anthony Davis and the Dallas Mavericks dominated the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament earlier today.

Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis trolls Sacramento Kings fans after winning play-in battle
Ever since Anthony Davis was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, he has not had many opportunities to shine. He did have a fruitful debut, but it was cut short by an injury that sidelined him for a lengthy period of time. Now, he is back battling with his teammates to continue in the playoffs.
When he was out with the adductor injury, the Mavericks tried to continue winning games. But Kyrie Irving‘s untimely ACL tear dampened those hopes. Along with the myriad of other injuries, the Mavs could not stop losing games.
Davis was on track to return, but the franchise was against the idea. They did not want him to potentially aggravate his injury and were content with missing out on the playoffs. The NBA Champion though, was adamant and eventually returned.
His return did not result in a major swing in their form, but at least they made it to the play in game after finishing 10th in the West. Today, they went to California to battle against the Sacramento Kings for a spot in the West play-in Final.
The Mavericks cruised to victory behind a stellar display from Anthony Davis. The Mavs dominated the interior after his fellow bigs Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford contributed. Late in the fourth quarter with the Mavs leading, Davis made it back to the bench. Then he turned towards the Kings fans to say.
Y’all might want to beat that traffic though.
Anthony Davis said
"Y'all might want to beat that traffic though." 😭

This was him responding to Kings fans who were heckling him. His cocky reply was well timed as by then, several Kings fans had left the arena. The superstar center’s words were the finishing touches to what would be a frustrating night for the home team.
Anthony Davis finally winning against Domantas Sabonis
Prior to this season, Anthony Davis had an abysmal record against international centers. Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis in particular had won ten straight battles against the 10-time All-Star when he was with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Questions were raised and analysts wondered if Davis was truly elite. He had an NBA championship and other accolades to show, but his no shows against Sabonis, Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid and others was concerning.
Before coming to the Dallas Mavericks, he had won all four of his contests against Sabonis. Those were not just team wins, rather, he performed well against the Lithuanian. Tonight was his fifth battle of the year against the 28-year-old, and he again performed brilliantly.
This makes it five wins in a row against Sabonis. This latest one was even more special as his team now move on to within a chance of making it to the playoffs. Anthony Davis is not giving up on this season and wants to fight until the end.
Mavericks face Grizzlies in West play-in final
Now the Dallas Mavericks get another chance to reach the playoffs. On Friday, April 18th, they will take on the Memphis Grizzlies in the West play-in final. The winner will get the chance to continue in into the first round and the loser will pack up their bags.
Anthony Davis has the chance to win over a lot of the irate Mavericks fans. They have been hurting since he was brought in via the trade that sent Luka Doncic to his former team. A win against the Memphis Grizzlies will help bring back the peace that his bosses want.
In the first round they will face the daunting task of taking on the league-leading Oklahoma City Thunder. But if he can set the tone for the team to show some fight in them, it will be enough to establish himself as the new superstar in Dallas, Texas.
Then Davis and his teammates can regroup and recover ahead of next season. They know Kyrie Irving will take some time to return. But they have to be ready and help their fan base revive their interest in the franchise.
