Belarusian tennis ace Aryna Sabalenka is looking to garner additional support ahead of her semifinal at the 2024 US Open. For the second successive year, she is set to face an American in her last four clash in the season’s final Grand Slam.
Sabalenka faced Madison Keys in the semifinal last year, where she came from a set down to win 0-6, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (5). This year, the Belarusian will face home favorite Emma Navarro for a place in the US Open final.
When asked how she plans to get a few local fans to support her against Navarro in the semifinals, Sabalenka hilariously offered to buy everyone drinks in exchange for their support.

Sabalenka and Navarro are currently tied 1-1 in the head-to-head. Navarro beat the Belarusian in Indian Wells this year, while Sabalenka got her revenge by ending the American’s run at the French Open.
Aryna Sabalenka becomes youngest woman since Venus Williams in 2002 to reach fourth consecutive semifinal at US Open
Aryna Sabalenka has been a consistent performer in the last few years and it shows in her statistics. On Tuesday (September 3), the Belarusian reached her fourth consecutive semifinal at the US Open when she beat Qinwen Zheng 6-1, 6-2.
With this qualification, Sabalenka became the youngest woman to reach four consecutive US Open semifinals in singles since Venus Williams in 2002. The 26-year-old made it to her first final last year and will be hoping to go all the way this year.
Sabalenka will be up against Emma Navarro, who is riding high on confidence having defeated reigning champion Coco Gauff 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 and former World No. 2 Paula Badosa 6-2, 7-5 in her last two matches.
