Devin Haney, the 25-year-old boxing champion, is at the center of controversy following a video. In a ‘Dream’ sequence, Haney threw a punch in a brawl at a Southern California fair this week. That too in kind of a sneaky fly shot from behind which didn’t even work. He was visible on video tiptoeing out of the altercation. Somewhere out there, Ryan Garcia is just laughing at the ordeal; more on that later.

Per TMZ Sports (@TMZ_Sports) though, Devin Haney in hence in the middle of of an assault and battery report. The SoCal camera video is filmed by a patron at the OC Fair. The Subreddit r/CaliBanging caught Haney, 25, with a group of friends, firing a left straight at a man apparently arguing with the group. That too in a fly shot from behind.

It’s unclear whether Haney’s punch landed, but the fight continued. With at least three more people throwing fists at the one man who tried to defend himself. Seconds later, as the fight continued, sirens blew off, prompting Haney to leave the scene. Haney last faced Ryan Garcia on April 20th at the Barclays Center. After testing positive for the banned substance Ostarine. Garcia (back to 24-1, 20KOs) is facing an NYSAC-imposed year ban and an overturn.

The WBC super-lightweight did get to keep his belt but he has been swiveling between stances. Haney thinks his marketability was hurt in his 12-round fight against Garcia. Then again, he is also seeking damages and a rematch at the same length! Guess the blunt-point CTE effect could be kicking in if he cannot even drop a civilian with a backshot. One just knows ‘King Ry’ will surely haunt him for this. Oh wait, he did.

Devin Haney ‘couldn’t even drop a civilian’, jibes Ryan Garcia

It’s a diss on the lines of “bro do you even lift” when a boxer can taunt another pro boxer for missing point blank on a civilian. Devin Haney got involved in a skirmish lately where he and his friends are fist-flying with some random guy and a woman. Even so, the boxer misses from a sucker shot and has to creep away after the sirens rung off.

Garcia wobbled and out-edged the 140-pound WBC super-lightweight very easily as of late. The official scores were 115-109, 114-110 and 112-112. However, all hell broke loose when despite a false positive for 19-Norandrosterone, Ryan Garcia tested in the green for Ostarine. The WBC allowed him to witness the opening of the “B” sample container and contest the results. However, the fallout was not in his favor. Much was made of him coming 3.2 lbs over the hydration limit and “bullying” Haney en route to a controversial win. Camp Haney jumped the gun on the blame game wagon.

Now, Garcia fires back questioning his mettle as a true boxer if he cannot even drop a civilian at close range. He also quips about the commission letting any disciplinary steps slide because Haney punches too soft. All in all, this is no good look for Devin Haney who modeled himself out to be a better boxer, demanding a rightful rematch.
