While many NBA analysts and former players often criticize young Bronny James for his performances in the NBA, the opposite happened at Madison Square Garden. The Los Angeles Lakers played against the New York Knicks on Saturday night at the MSG. Surprisingly, the Lakers won 112-128 against the Knicks away from home, with Lakers star Austin Reaves stepping up in attack.

Notably, both sets of fans at the MSG were chanting for the Lakers rookie, Bronny James during the game. This was during the 4th quarter of the game when the Knicks were losing against the Lakers. However, the home fans did not care about the game for that moment and showed Bronny their support and love as they chanted, “We want Bronny!”

In addition, the crowd went wild after James Jr scored his first points at the MSG. As for the game, thanks to a triple-double from LeBron James, who once again showed off in Madison Square Garden. James, who turned 40 in December, moved to 23-8 all-time at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. He led all players with 33 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds.

There, he improved his statistics to 28.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game. Also, the Lakers added 27 points from Austin Reaves. With 7:57 remaining in the third quarter, Reaves made a 3-pointer to give Los Angeles the lead for good, 71-68. Reaves scored ten of the Lakers’ points, starting a 13–4 surge. Ever since then they did not look back and went on to win the game at the MSG in style.

LeBron James grateful for fans at MSG

LeBron James has been doing it all in the NBA this season, from defense to attack even after turning 40 in December 2024. Most recently, James played at his favorite arena, the Madison Square Garden, and won, taking his personal tally to 23-8. Interestingly, throughout the game, James was supported and garnered with chants, showcasing the love that the MSG has for him.

After the game, James opened up to the fans at the MSG. LeBron James said, “The fans have always treated me with respect, and I’ve always just tried to give it back to them throughout my career.”

The Lakers displayed the kind of consistent shooting that makes any team with James dangerous, with five players sinking at least three 3-pointers. The Lakers’ six-game Grammys road trip comes to an end Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Intuit Dome. On Monday, the Knicks will host the Houston Rockets.
