Few players in the NFL have a dedicated fanbase and a massive number of people constantly rooting for them like Kadarius Toney. The 2021 first-round pick of the New York Giants rose to fame after he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs midway through his second season. He went on to win two Super Bowls with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Kadarius Toney was released by the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this year. He subsequently signed with the Cleveland Browns and became a part of their practice squad. The wideout got his first chance to play in a game in the Browns Week 13 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Kadarius Toney failed his chance at redemption as he wound up with just one carry for three yards. He was put into the game in the third quarter and had the chance to catch his first pass of the season but despite being wide open, Toney dropped a pass from Jameis Winston. Classic Toney, there was no better way for him to make his comeback. He was benched right after dropping the same.

Kadarius Toney’s last season at the Chiefs didn’t go as planned
The wide receiver was one of Patrick Mahomes‘ primary targets in 2022 and 2023. During his time with the Chiefs, he had 41 receptions, 430 yards, and 4 touchdowns. His notable contributions, however, came when the Chiefs needed him the most. In Super Bowl LVII, he set the record for the longest punt return with a 65-yarder.
He broke Jordan Norwood’s record of a 61-yard punt return set in Super Bowl 50. Toney went on to catch a touchdown that helped the Chiefs get the lead for the first time in the entire night. His only reception in the big game resulted in a 5-yard touchdown. Since then, Kadarius Toney has gained a lot of admirers. He is a two-time Super Bowl champion.
His last season with the Chiefs was disappointing as he struggled with drops. His season was riddled with injuries. He sustained a torn meniscus which limited him but he did more damage to his career on the field than off the field.
Kadarius Toney made blunders that cost the Chiefs regular season games such as the deflected pass in the 2023 season opener against the Lions and lining up offsides before catching a lateral pass from Travis Kelce and scoring a touchdown which nullified the play. Despite the rocky past, the hope is that Toney can resurrect his career and gain his confidence back.
