With the Fever leading 96-71, DeShields aggressively lowered her shoulder and hit Clark, resulting in a flagrant 1 foul.

She led the Fever to a dominant 100-81 win over the Sky, where she scored a career-high 31 points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished out 12 assists. With this victory, the Fever improved their record to 16-16 and will look to continue their momentum against the Dallas Wings on Sunday.
Diamond DeShields responds to hateful comments with prayer and positivity
Fans came after Chicago Sky star Diamond DeShields for committing a flagrant foul on Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, but some went as far as sending hateful comments. Despite the negative comments, DeShields chose to respond with kindness and said a prayer, as she shared a screenshot of her Instagram notifications.
The hateful and distasteful comments stemmed from DeShields’ past health challenges, including a spinal cord tumor that required surgery and a grueling rehabilitation process. The Chicago Sky have been cautious with DeShields’ playing time, keeping her minutes minimal in games where she is not needed. Furthermore, her doctor had also recommended annual MRIs to prevent the tumor from recurring.
This season she’s averaging 4.3 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game for the Chicago Sky who are struggling with form and have come under criticism for the way they are letting star rookie Angel Reese take selfish shots even though she’s proved to be abysmal at it. The game was billed as a contest between Clark and Reese with the former coming out on top and even getting the support of NBA and Los Angeles Lakers legend, LeBron James.
