Bobby Portis' house was burglarized while he was playing for the Milwaukee Bucks against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Robbers struck Milwaukee Bucks star Bobby Portis' house
The Milwaukee Bucks are sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference after losing their fifth straight game. The loss to the league-leading Cleveland Cavaliers was disheartening for all players. But the night got worse for star forward Bobby Portis.
The 29-year-old has been a regular fixture on the Milwaukee Bucks for the last four years. He is central in their plans when building a roster to vie for another NBA title. The 6′ 10″ forward has earned more than $60 million in his career.
When Portis went home after defeat to the Cavaliers, he realized that he had been robbed. He checked the security cameras and posted a video on his X account with a message.
I consider Milwaukee my home. Last night, while I was at work, my home was burglarized, and many of my prized possessions were stolen. If you have any tips or info, please send them to info@bobbyportis.com. Rewards for info leading to recovery or arrests! pic.twitter.com/ORNYHxNC1c

From the security camera feed, it looked like two robbers were working on trying to enter his house through a door. Although the visuals do not show them robbing, Bobby Portis claimed that they took a number of prized possessions, though he has not clarified what those were.
Bobby Portis won an NBA title in his first season in Milwaukee
Bobby Portis came into the NBA through the Chicago Bulls. In his fourth season, he was traded to the Washington Wizards. Later, he signed with the New York Knicks as a free agent earning his highest salary to date.
But it didn’t last, as the Knicks declined their team option the following year. That forced Portis to sign a bargain mid-level contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. But his impressive performances off the bench were crucial as the franchise romped away to win their first title after half a decade.
That helped Portis decline his next year’s option and earn a bigger contract. His impressive run from the bench continued and then, ahead of the 2022 season, the Bucks decided to offer him a long-term contract.
That stability helped him settle down in Milwaukee. No wonder it hit him hard that he was robbed in a place he considers to be his home. He will now have to wait for the police and others to help him recover those stolen possessions.
