The inappropriate messages to the Indiana Fever player gave out an idea about the stalker’s mental state. However, the reality seems to be a lot more terrifying after the man’s first appearance in court.
Michael Lewis was allegedly driving near Caitlin Clark‘s residence in Indiana. The man even moved from Texas to Indianapolis to be near the star. Later, after learning about Lewis’ explicit and threatening messages to the 22-year-old, the police succeeded in arresting the man. However, it seems like Clark has dodged a bullet as Lewis admitted his guilt as soon as he entered the courtroom. “Guilty as charged,” Michael Lewis said.
The man’s disruptive demeanor shook the fans as Lewis had multiple outbursts in the courtroom. Lewis was not in the state of listening as he kept interrupting the Judge. Despite calling himself ‘guilty’ the first chance he got, Lewis also stated ‘You got the wrong guy’ minutes later. However, the man was firm about not wanting bail after making conflicting statements.

Lewis is likely to stay in custody for a long time as he has no intention of posting his $50k bail bond. The man is also ordered to not contact Clark in any way nor attempt to go near Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Along with Clark, her fans are also relieved that the man getting charged.

Lewis has not hired a lawyer and was then appointed an attorney by the state. Despite acknowledging his guilt the man is pleading not guilty. If charged, Lewis could face six years in prison, which is big news for Clark and her safety in Indiana.
