The Chicago Bears almost got themselves on the scoring board as the clock ticked to zero in the second quarter. Quarterback Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears had possession of the ball with just 1 second left on the game clock and 11 seconds on the play clock.
The Bears were positioned at the 50-yard line of the Indianapolis Colts. Everyone in Lucas Oil Stadium, from the fans in the seats to the players on the sidelines and on the field, knew what play the Bears would execute. Caleb Williams was going to throw a Hail Mary.
Caleb Williams made full use of his cannon arm and swung the ball in the way of Joe Reed who had made it to the endzone. However, Reed was covered by defenders and managed to touch the ball but was unable to make the catch. Luckily, the ball was still not yet on the ground.

The Chicago Bears did not get on the scoring board heading into halftime
DJ Moore was right there and managed to make the catch just one yard away from the endzone. Unfortunately, E.J. Speed was quick enough to bring Moore down before he could make his way to the endzone.
There went the hopes of the Bears to go into halftime having scored a touchdown and a shot at tying the ball game. DJ Moore headed into the locker room with a 44-yard completion. Williams completed 16 of 27 passes for 213 yards and an interception. On the brighter side, he had been sacked just once so far this game.
Caleb Williams’ passing numbers at the half were more than the total yards he threw for in games one and two respectively. The quarterback had 93 yards in the Bears’ Week 1 win over the Titans and 174 yards in the Week 2 loss to the Texans. He is slowly coming out of his shell and getting used to the NFL’s level of play.
