(Video) Charles Barkley unloads on Republicans and Democratic party in fiery rant on live TV
Charles Barkley went off on a fiery rant on TNT's MLK Day broadcast about the divisive nature of American politics.
Charles Barkley sounds off on Republican versus Democrat debate
One thing certain about Charles Barkley is that he will always speak his mind no matter the situation. As the Inside Crew honored the remarkable Dr Martin Luther King Jr. on MLK Day, the ‘Chuckster’ went off on a lengthy rant about the state of modern-day politics in America. His rant focused especially on the divisive nature of the Republican or Democratic party discourse.
Barkley, who has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, made his political affiliations clear on the MLK Day broadcast of the NBA. He went on a fiery rant condemning both the Republican and Democratic parties. He labeled them stooges of politicians to enable the general public to fight amongst themselves rather than unite to fight for the right causes to bring about real change.
"I think both parties suck. But I think they do a really good job of making us not like each other…I wish people would understand that politicians do a good job of making us fight with each other." – Charles Barkley pic.twitter.com/Z6Q9z16cv1

In his rant, Charles Barkley touched upon how the bickering of politicians drives people into fights surrounding their economic disparities. While Inside the NBA is generally known for its entertaining and witty basketball discourse, Monday’s show touched upon a number of these political themes. Ernie Johnson and Barkley led the way for the debate.
Charles Barkley’s political rant was also partially due to the inauguration ceremony of President Trump simultaneously occurring while Inside the NBA was airing. Although Barkley had confirmed that he voted for the Democratic Party to support Kamala Harris, he went on to give Trump his nod of approval for the foreseeable future.
Charles Barkley refused to attend NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco
On Thursday, the NBA announced the All-Star starters for the star-studded All-Star Weekend in San Francisco next month. The weekend will be hosted by the Inside Crew and aired on TNT, which means that it’s a busy time of the year for Charles Barkley and the gang. However, it seems like the Chuckster is not a fan of attending the NBA’s marquee showcase this year, particularly due to the location.
"I’m not going. I’m not going to that rat-infested place out in San Francisco…San Francisco is not a beautiful city." – Charles Barkley pic.twitter.com/7fXWMCV5um

During Thursday’s show, Barkley announced his intentions to skip going to this year’s All-Star Weekend as it’s going to be held in San Francisco. It is one such city that he has made his dislike known for several times, even though Ernie Johnson tried his best to keep Chuck from saying something too controversial on-air.
However, one must know that Barkley is contractually obligated to attend the event, as there is no way TNT will let their star show host skip the All-Star Weekend. As always, the battle between the Chuckster and the Bay Area continues.
