The NBA is back, and Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis looks ready to dominate the league. The Lakers came out of Tuesday night’s historic season opener with a big win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
At the forefront of the Lakers’ 110-103 victory was the dominant offensive performance of Anthony Davis. As Davis put on a show at the Crypto.com Arena, he let everyone know his disdain for the reigning Kia Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert.
During the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ victory, Davis found himself face-to-face with Gobert in an isolation match at the top of the key. After taking the Frenchman to work in the post, Davis scored a tough, contested midrange jumper. After nailing the shot, he voiced his thoughts.
While running back on defense, Davis turned around to look at the camera while shaking his head. With a certain level of disdain in his eyes, he can be seen muttering every hooper’s favorite phrase: “He can’t guard me.”
