Danielle Collins is known for showing her emotions on the court. The No. 10 seed let her feelings out after defeating Destanee Aiava 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-2. She celebrated by shouting, “How ’bout that!” and blowing kisses to the crowd at Kia Arena. Most of the crowd had been cheering for Aiava, the last Australian in the tournament.
Collins received some boos in response to her celebration. She smiled and made a playful comment in her on-court interview. She joked that those who cheered against her had helped pay for her next holiday.
