The Cleveland Browns face a disastrous setback halfway through their Week 7 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals as quarterback Deshaun Watson has been carted off the field after sustaining an injury in the final minutes of the first half against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Deshaun Watson went down as he attempted to scramble the ball right after seeing an avenue open in the offensive line. It was a scary fall for Watson as his leg seemed to give in and buckle under his weight. There was no contact on the play but the quarterback was squealing in pain as he went down.

The Browns‘ medical team rushed onto the field to examine the quarterback’s leg. Within a matter of minutes, they had determined that he was done for the night. Watson was immediately carted off the field for further evaluation.

Deshaun Watson had a rough night as Browns fans booed the quarterback at home field

The game continued with Kevin Stefanski sending backup QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson into the game. If Watson is not able to make a return by next week, the Browns will look to Jameis Winston to make his start. His injury is a setback for Stefanski as well, who has been confident in Watson’s capabilities as the starting QB for Cleveland.

As Deshaun Watson was carted off the field, he could not hold his emotions back. The quarterback broke down and put his towel over his head to cover his eyes as tears began to roll down. It has been a rough night for the quarterback who had to endure the boos from the fans at Huntington Bank Field earlier in the night.

Deshaun Watson could have sustained an Achilles injury in which case he will be sidelined for the remainder of the season. Despite what the quarterback’s numbers say this season, Watson was giving it his everything on the field and has been playing hard. The quarterback is going through a rough phase on and off the gridiron. It is unfortunate to see him sustain an injury at this point in the season. Hopefully, he can make a speedy recovery.
