This week’s Raw marked the last appearance of Pat McAfee in WWE. He has been on a hiatus for a while due to his past commitments with ESPN’s Gameday. The Raw commentator announced this emotional news to his fans before Raw today. During the show, the former NFL star gave an emotional speech addressing his fans and his absence.
Pat McAfee took on the microphone to thank the WWE crew, who helped him throughout his time on commentary. Moreover, he even expressed well wishes to Michael Cole. The 37-year-old star named Cole as the greatest of all time who inspires him to present his best on TV. Besides, the former NFL star even gave a shout-out to the WWE makeup crew and backstage management who set up this workplace.
Furthermore, McAfee confirmed that this is going to be his last Raw for the next four months. He said that he was going to miss everything. However, he is already excited to be back on the show. The Raw commentator is likely to make his return around Royal Rumble. The first PLE of 2025 is going to take place in Indianapolis, which is Pat’s hometown as well. Therefore, fans might hear the tunes of ‘The Anamoly’ at that time.
Moreover, McAfee left the commentary last year for the same reason. He returned to WWE at Royal Rumble 2024 and has been working as a color commentator on Raw alongside the Voice of WWE since then.
WWE commentary teams set to undergo major changes following the departure of Pat McAfee
Pat McAfee has officially left the commentary table of Raw. Now, Michael Cole is all alone on the Red Brand in his commentary role. However, WWE is all set to introduce major changes to the announce teams for both Raw and SmackDown in the days to come.

The raw commentary table is set to be graced by ESPN’s own Joe Tessitore. The Voice of WWE will be moving to Friday nights in a few weeks. Moreover, Corey Graves and Wade Barrett will also be heading to Raw to join Tessitore to give fans a fresh feel for the Red Brand.
It is not yet confirmed who is going to join Cole on SmackDown. However, Graves might likely pull double duty for a while. It is not going to be the first time for the former NXT Star. It is going to be interesting to see how things will be for WWE programming following the heartfelt absence of McAfee.
