There have been a few instances of a physical altercation between the teams during or post-game, but things quickly went out of hand before the match even began between the Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers.
Following the pre-game warm-ups, the Texans’ newly acquired Stefon Diggs was seen exchanging heated words with the Packers’ Jaire Alexander and Keisean Nixon. Tension escalated quickly as they began shoving each other, prompting the officials and head coaches to step in and separate the players, according to NFL on CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson.
What happened exactly on the sidelines remains a mystery, but Diggs’ animosity toward the Packers is well-known, as he has frequently engaged in trash talk with wideout Alexander. It has been going on since the four-time Pro Bowler’s time in Minnesota.
The video of this unprofessional behavior has gone viral on the internet, where the Texans wide receiver can be seen facing several Green Bay players alone. They can be clearly seen shouting and being displeased with each other. Even after Diggs was taken at some distance from the sideline by the referees, he continued slamming Alexander and his teammates verbally.

It was surely not an ideal view, but Diggs’ infamous reputation both in the locker room and on the field made this rather expected. Just as it was previously when Alexander and Diggs were seen severely criticizing each other while walking out of the tunnel.
Stefon Diggs downplays rivalry with Packers’ Jaire Alexander
Given the bitter and infamous history of Diggs and Alexander, there was a lot of anticipation regarding this Sunday Night Football game. Prior to the game, when the All-Pro receiver was asked about his week 7 matchup against his biggest rival, he didn’t give it too much importance and claimed it was just another week for him.
I could say, ‘Yeah,’ but it’s no different approach than any other week. I’m not going out there trying to prove nothing that I ain’t trying to prove each and every other week, every play, every day, try to earn it during the week in practice. I don’t really get into all that extra [stuff].

Contrary to his words, the matchup ended up impacting him differently compared to previous weeks, as it marked the second pregame incident of his career, that too against the same rival. The game concluded with the Packers’ close victory at 24-22 against the Texans, improving to 5-2.
