If there is one bond not to be messed with, it is that between a mama bear and her cub. Irrespective of species, the relationship between a mother and her child is special, she plays a protective role and ensures that the offspring never gets in trouble. Amongst professional athletes too, some of the greatest players in basketball and football were able to stay disciplined and focus on their goals due to their mother’s keeping close tabs on them.

In the NBA, the likes of Kevin Durant, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James are players who have been outspoken with respect to the contributions of their mothers in helping their careers take off. In the NFL, an emerging star has shown that behind his success, is a strong independent woman.

Rookie Jayden Daniels had one of the greatest debuts in the NFL. He nearly led one of the worst franchises in football to a Super Bowl and boosted the spirits of an entire fanbase. Behind the 24-year-old rookie’s success is his mother, Regina Jackson. She has done her best to keep him focused on just football and while that has not been easy to do, his surge in popularity and the increased limelight has resulted in her having to work overtime!

Yesterday, Jayden Daniels attended the NCAA March Madness game between the USC Trojans and the UNC Greensboro Spartans. The highlight of the night was Juju Watkins, who was an emerging star. The two stars got an opportunity to talk during the game as Daniels’ was sitting courtside and next to him was Watkins. The two appeared to hit it off quickly and could be seen laughing and enjoying their talk on the sidelines.

Interestingly, at this time, Regina Jackson was seated to the right of Juju Watkins and Jayden Daniels to her left. The USC star was between the mother and son. The mother was watching the game but there is a good chance that her eyes were more focused on the chemistry brewing between Watkins and Daniels.

Eventually, Watkins had to sub back into the game. Taking advantage of this moment, Jayden Daniels’ mother wound up switching seats and moved next to her son. So the next time around, when Watkins was back to the sidelines, she found herself sitting next to Regina Jackson and that marked the end of the interaction between Daniels and the budding basketball star.

The sight was comical because it proved that irrespective of his achievements, JD is still viewed as a child by his mother, and her protective instincts were activated at that moment. However, Jackson and Watkins were seen exchanging a few words throughout the game. So, maybe the mother was just vetting her and checking if she would be the right person for her son. Ideally, Jayden Daniels and Juju Watkins would be a perfect match.

This is because they both are committed to their respective sports and seldom are known to stir controversy. The 19-year-old USC star is single just like Daniels and the duo prefers to keep most of their lives private. Jayden Daniels earned a big fanbase and impressed Tom Brady after he revealed that his life comprises football, watching film, attending practices, and nothing else.

Irrespective of this incident, Jayden Daniels’ NFL career will be successful partly due to his mother who will make sure his focus does not waver.
