A few months ago, the Los Angeles Lakers’ main priority was to replace their former head coach Darvin Ham, who received the sack after a poor 2023-24 NBA season. Soon after, the Lakers got their head coach in former NBA star JJ Redick.
Reddick was appointed after a thorough research by the management team, headed by Lakers GM Rob Pelinka. Moreover, the Lakers fans are ecstatic with the appointment of their new head coach because the Lakers showcased top-notch basketball as a unit under Redick’s coaching.
The Lakers experienced a good preseason and kicked off their season with a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. This led to Lakers fans comparing their current head coach with the former one. However, the fans saw the hilarious side of this as they compared both the coaches’ mic’d-up moments towards the players.
The video making rounds on the internet shows Redick giving out an energetic speech to his players during a time-out. On the other hand, the video then pans out with Ham giving a speech to the Lakers players who seemed uninterested in what was being said.

This was somewhat of a dig towards their former head coach. It’s important to note that, Ham is now the assistant coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. After enduring a difficult period with the Lakers, he chose to settle for a lesser role this time around.
JJ Redick shared his views after Lakers’ win season opener
JJ Redick and the Los Angeles Lakers began the season with a resounding win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Interestingly, all the players seemed to be in sync with Redick’s coaching style and his decisions on and off the court.
Regarding the win, Redick opened up after the game and spoke highly of his players. The Lakers’ stars had a good performance against the Timberwolves, with star defender Anthony Davis on fire, scoring a whopping 36 points and gathering 16 rebounds in the game.
I thought overall, our guys really did a phenomenal job of executing our game plan.

The Lakers defeated the Timberwolves as a result of their combined efforts on both sides of the court. LeBron James and four other players each scored in double figures, while the team as a whole worked hard to run actions.
Running back on forth on the court is something that Redick focuses on a lot in his teams. All eyes will now be on the Lakers’ upcoming matches, especially on the back of a good win against the Wolves.
