The last nine days have seen the world come to terms with the fact that Luka Doncic is now a part of the Los Angeles Lakers. In a trade that shocked everyone including LeBron James, the Dallas Mavericks sent their franchise cornerstone away, gifting the team in purple and gold their next major superstar.
Ever since that trade happened, Mavericks fans have been like barbarians at the gates. They have been calling for GM Nico Harrison to be fired and the team had to move his traditional seat inside American Airlines Arena and beef up security.
On the other hand, fans in Los Angeles are as upbeat as they could be. They know what they are getting in a 25-year-old star who is already a five-time All-NBA 1st teamer. It seems LeBron James also knows that his team have brought in a player to whom he can pass the baton to.
Tonight is the highly anticipated debut of Luka Doncic. The game has seen such a hype that fans across the city of Los Angeles have been lining up at Lakers merchandise stores to get a hold of the Slovenian’s jerseys. Now James has added in to the hype by wearing a No. 77 Lakers t-shirt and said this.

By this he meant that him and Doncic combined are a hundred. That should give the rest of the league an idea of what the duo can do starting from tonight. The 40-year-old then continued his pre-game warmup in preparation for the Utah Jazz.

The Los Angeles Lakers have also draped all the seats inside Crypto.com Arena with those No. 77 T-shirts. That means, fans will get free No. 77 shirts to wear when Luka Doncic debuts for his new team. On such a momentous occasion, Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki tweeted this.
