Captain LeBron James and his Team USA side made a thrilling comeback against Team Serbia in the semi-finals of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Despite this, what caught the basketball community’s attention was James’ unique handshake courtside with his 3 kids, Bronny James, Bryce James, and Zhuri James after Team USA’s win against the Serbians.
James performed 3 different handshakes with his 3 children which amused the basketball community. His two sons, Bronny, who was picked by the Los Angeles Lakers this year, and Bryce, a 2025 four-star prospect, were in attendance, as was James’ daughter Zhuri. They witnessed their father’s triple-double, as the eldest James concluded with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.
On the other hand, Bronny James was drafted as the 55th overall pick by the Lakers during the 2024 NBA Draft. Also, the Lakers created history as they have the first-ever father-son duo in the NBA on their roster, LeBron and Bronny James. A lot of expectations will be on the younger James to deliver in his debut 2024-25 NBA season.
However, the newly appointed head coach, JJ Redick, and Lakers GM Rob Pelinka have previously asserted that they will give James Jr. the time to develop in his rookie season. Currently, the senior James is on the verge of winning the Gold medal for his nation, Team USA.
Team USA heaps huge praise for their basketball captain, LeBron James on social media
In Team USA’s match against Serbia, it was Stephen Curry who stole the headlines with his 36-point career high. However, the basketball community as well as the official Team USA X account handle gave their basketball captain, LeBron James his flowers.
Team USA wrote on X, “If you come for the king, you best not miss,” praising James for his breathtaking triple-double against Nikola Jokic‘s Team Serbia. It’s important to note that, James recorded only the fourth triple-double in Olympic history, scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists in 32 minutes of play.
Interestingly, one thing is certain: LeBron James will do all in his power to win on Saturday, potentially earning his third Olympic gold medal and fourth overall. It will be an immense battle against the home nation, Team France in the Finals as they too possess the likes of star players like Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert.
