Mark Cuban left stunned as Luka Doncic gets his revenge against the Mavs

In what could be dubbed Luka Doncic‘s “revenge game,” Doncic showed up with his first triple-double in purple and gold. Throughout the game, Doncic stared in the direction of his former team’s bench, taunted Mavs GM Nico Harrison—who was the brains behind trading the Slovenian superstar—and left the Mavericks’ minority owner, Mark Cuban, in shock.

Cuban, who was also in attendance, couldn’t hide his reaction. Doncic, known to sometimes let his emotions get the best of him, was especially fiery yet stoic tonight. He started the game swinging, ending the first quarter with 9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal, and a block.

The energy was off the roof in the Crypto Arena, and so were the ticket prices. The energy went even higher when Luka sank a deep three. At this, 27% minority owner Mark Cuban couldn’t help but laugh.

After an obviously animated Luka made the three, the camera cut to the Shark Tank billionaire, who was ecstatic to witness Doncic’s antics. Cuban looked satisfied to watch the young gun he helped draft and bring over to the U.S. from Europe—who has now turned into a man and a Laker, like he was supposed to be.

Although many fans and sportsbooks pushed the narrative of an offensive shelling from the 26-year-old former MVP, it was a low-scoring affair. Nonetheless, the number 77 jersey’s contribution was undeniable in last night’s 107-99 victory. He ended the night with 19 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists, and 3 interceptions, along with 2 denials on the defensive end.

First Mark Cuban, then Nico Harrison—emotions were flying really high. However, another basketball legend, Shaquille O’Neal, wasn’t too happy with Doncic’s demeanor. According to the Big Diesel, Luka should have gone even harder, and had it been him, he would have had some “vulgar choice of words” for Nico.
