The Denver Nuggets easily defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 144-119 on Wednesday night thanks to an explosive outburst. In Denver’s fourth straight victory, Nikola Jokic scored 38 points, pulled down eight rebounds, and dished out 10 assists. Notably, if anyone knows Jokic very well on the Nuggets’ roster, it is his long-time friend, DeAndre Jordan. Similarly, the NBA fanbase is familiar with their on-court antics, such as their famous ‘European handshake.’ However, Nuggets youngster Daron Holmes did not seem to be familiar with this and had a hilarious reaction to their handshake.
As Jokic and Jordan did their iconic handshake, Holmes was left stunned (with his eyebrows raised) which left the NBA fans in laughter. Fans from all over the globe took to various social media handles to react to this moment. Regardless, Jokic and Jordan share a great bond over the years in the NBA, and the American is the closest to the Serbian since he joined the Nuggets.

Nikola Jokic had a hilarious take regarding ‘stats and analytics’
With their current record of 32-19, the Denver Nuggets are only .5 games below the Houston Rockets. This is for third place in the Western Conference. Thanks to Nikola Jokic‘s 38 points, 8 rebounds, and 10 assists against the Pelicans. However, Jokic is not bothered with any of these ‘stats and analytics’ as he provided a hilarious take after the game.
“Maybe. I don’t know. To be honest, I don’t know any stats, any of the analytics stuff so I don’t follow that…Maybe we are a little bit better, Who knows?”
Regarding the game, Nikola Jokic said
The fact that Jokic is not bound by offensive efficiency, PER, or any other number used to measure play is not unexpected at all. The top basketball player doesn’t rely on his box scores and newspaper clippings for validation. Also. that is probably expected from a star of his caliber. All said and done, Jokic’s focus is only one thing: winning the NBA 2025 title with the Nuggets.
