Maycee Barber came into the UFC as a 20-year-old prospect from Dana White’s Contender Series, hoping to become the youngest UFC champion. After three finishes in her first three fights, she suffered setbacks in consecutive bouts but is now on a 6-fight winning streak at flyweight. Barber now occupies the 4th position in the UFC’s flyweight rankings, potentially a victory away from a title shot.

The women’s flyweight division has become the most competitive female division in the promotion. As such, Barber is one of the baddest fighters. Therefore, it’s not a wise idea to pick a fight with her. Interestingly, that is what an allegedly intoxicated woman tried to do in a video that Barber posted on Instagram.

In the video, Barber and Demi Bagby, her friend, tried to persuade a relatively older woman to move away from their truck. The older woman did not oblige. Moreover, she even alleged that she would defeat Barber and Bagby in a fight. Barber urged the woman to do the same before the video as the woman angrily told the young fighters to put their phone out.

In her last fight, Barber defeated Katlyn Cerminara at UFC 299. Cerminara, a former flyweight title challenger, was coming off a long lay-off. Nevertheless, the victory inched Barber close to a title shot. However, Valentina Shevchenko and Alexa Grasso will face each other in the next flyweight title fight.

Moreover, the winner of Shevchenko vs. Grasso will have to face Manon Fiorot, the number one contender. Rose Namajunas recently called out Barber, but the UFC has not made any official confirmation.

Maycee Barber is in a difficult position in the UFC’s flyweight division even though she is on a long winning streak. The controversial split draw in the main event of Noche UFC is the reason. Nonetheless, that has not stopped Barber from enjoying life outside the octagon.

It is never a good idea to pick a fight with a professional MMA fighter. However, Barber’s video ended without showing what happened to the intoxicated woman. Nonetheless, it is safe to assume that she would’ve had a bad night if she had laid her hands on Barber or her friend.
