Paul George relived his end-of-game blunder against the Phoenix Suns after the Philadelphia 76ers fell to a 116-118 defeat.
Paul George returns in loss against Suns
Paul George finally made his much-awaited debut for the Philadelphia 76ers after being out with an injury at the start of the season. Sixers fans had been waiting eagerly to get a glimpse of their superstar offseason signing.
However, the excitement for George’s return was short-lived. The Sixers fell 116-118 to the Phoenix Suns. The lowlight of the game, unfortunately, was George’s late-game blunders. With less than 20 seconds remaining in the game and the Sixers down by 2 points, Paul George decided to take over on the last possession of the game.
George had a far-from-ideal debut, scoring just 15 points on 4/13 shooting from the field. With the game hanging by a thread, he decided to isolate at the top of the key. With just seconds left, he launched a midrange jumper – to no avail.

The Sixers were led in scoring by Tyrese Maxey, who ended the game with 32 points. However, George decided to take it upon himself to call game at the end of regulation. Maxey watched on as George drained time from the clock instead of going for a quick shot attempt.
After the game, George spoke to the media about his thought process at the end of the regulation.

Monday night was George’s return to the squad nearly 20 days after he suffered a scary injury during preseason. With Joel Embiid’s availability still questionable, the Sixers will need George to help ease the offensive load on Maxey.
Paul George gears up for Clippers return
While his return to action may have been rough, Paul George will need to pull up his socks going forward. He is all set to make his return to the Los Angeles Clippers when the Sixers face off against them on November 6.
George played for the Clippers for five seasons, before joining the Sixers during the offseason. He took to his podcast to share his feelings upon his return to LA.
George shared his excitement at playing against his hometown team for the first time in five years. Joel Embiid is likely to remain sidelined due to injury concerns and an ongoing investigation. In the meantime, PG13 and Tyrese Maxey will need to step up.
