Roger Federer is one of the brains behind the Laver Cup and represented Team Europe up until his retirement at the event in 2022. Since then, he has always made sure to support the tournament and everyone taking part in whatever capacity he could — even keeping those around him looking sharp.
On the sidelines of the Laver Cup in Berlin this year, a member of Carlos Alcaraz’s team was caught on camera trying to straighten his bow tie. Federer, who was standing next to the Spaniard, stepped in to save the day. He very quickly ensured it sat in the right manner, prompting a big laugh from Alcaraz.
While this moment between Federer and Alcaraz has since gone viral on social media, it was also reminiscent of the time the Swiss maestro assisted his rival-cum-friend Rafael Nadal by adjusting his suit. Incidentally, that interaction also happened at the Laver Cup, in 2019.

Carlos Alcaraz eager to impress Roger Federer at Laver Cup
Carlos Alcaraz is making his Laver Cup debut this year, with Team Europe’s title chances relying heavily on how he performs in Berlin. Besides bragging rights, the Spaniard has also set his sights on impressing one person — Roger Federer, the co-founder of the tournament.
For me it's great. I will try to be ready for that time, try to put a show, to put a good point on the match just to make him enjoy watching the match. But for me, it's great to hear those words from him.Carlos Alcaraz said at a press conference
Alcaraz is coming into the tournament on the back of helping Spain reach the finals of the Davis Cup, which will take place in Malaga in November. Additionally, it is also the 21-year-old’s first time in the German city and he has been taking in the sights before the tournament. The four-time Grand Slam champion, who is a huge soccer fan, even enjoyed a kickabout with players from Union Berlin, the local Bundesliga soccer club, on Tuesday (September 17).
The tournament kicked off on Friday, with Team World’s Francisco Cerundolo winning the opening tie 6-4, 6-4 against Casper Ruud. However, Team Europe immediately bounced back, with Stefanos Tsitsipas beating Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-1, 6-4.
