The Philadelphia Eagles’ rowdy fans once again gained the spotlight, but once again for all the wrong seasons. In the aftermath of the team’s dominating 55-23 victory over the Washington Commanders, a troubling incident involving those rowdy fans has gone viral, drawing widespread attention and mixed reactions on social media.

Following the NFC Championship game, a video surfaced on the internet where several Eagles fans can be seen surrounding two Commanders supporters as they leave Lincoln Field. Blinded by the victory, the Eagles fans were seen taunting and recording those Commanders fans, who were simply trying to walk away from the scene.

The situation escalated when one of those Eagles fans snatched a yellow beanie off one of the Commanders’ fans’ heads, prompting an attempt to retrieve it before ultimately letting it go. They even attempted to put the Green-colored Eagles cap on that Commanders’ fan before taking it off quickly.

This incident has reignited discussions about fan behavior during high-stakes games. While many Eagles fans celebrated their team’s qualifying for the Super Bowl, others took things too far in an attempt to roost their opposing fanbase. Unfortunately, such rowdy behavior wasn’t unexpected from the Eagles fans, who are known for this reputation as they often make it tough for opposing fans to support their teams playing at the Eagles’ home stadium.

In Philly’s Wild-Card game against the Green Bay Packers, a couple attending the game found themselves victims of unruly behavior from an Eagles fan seated behind them. He suddenly began hurling insults and explicit remarks at the Packers fan’s fiancee, who was just cheering for her favorite team.

Eagles fans highlight growing discontent over fan behavior in sports

Since the video of the Eagles’ rowdy fans misbehaving with the Commanders fans went viral, many people on social media have expressed disappointment, demanding better behavior from fans. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy also addressed the incident on X, emphasizing that the Eagles fans took things too far.

I know Philly fans are sc**bsgs but this is beyond being a sc**bag. Total a***ole move to actually grab the dudes hat as he’s walking out,” he posted on X.

The Philadelphia police reportedly made 31 arrests during the celebrations following the game, primarily for disorderly conduct by the Eagles fans. Things escalated to such an extent that Mayor Cherelle Parker had to request the residents not to “shoot guns in the air,” in celebratory moments.
