The Philadelphia Eagles are flying early tonight in the NFC Championship game. The team wasted no time in getting off to a fiery start as running back Saquon Barkley opened up the scoring tab for them with an incredible touchdown run.

After Jayden Daniels and the Commanders were unable to get things going early on, they settled for a field goal. However, the hometown heroes, the Philadelphia Eagles made their strategy for the night clear, hand the ball to Saquon Barkley and get out of the way!

The star running back scored a 60-yard touchdown on the first Eagles’ play from the line of scrimmage. Philly designed a jet sweep play and tossed the ball to Barkley who took off. He had plenty of space to run but risked being tackled at the 40-yard line. However, despite Commanders’ defensive back Quan Martin’s best attempt to grab onto him and bring him down, the running back cruised past him.

The play got better from that point forward. Saquon Barkley risked running into safety Jeremy Chinn but within a fraction of a second, he spun off him and switched his path while continuing to accelerate. The safety wound up losing balance and falling but Barkley took it to the house and scored a 60-yard touchdown for Philadelphia.

The running back is feeling himself tonight and he had a particularly eventful first quarter. His stats at the end of Q1 were 2 carries for 64 yards and 2 touchdowns. Apart from the aforementioned TD Run, the running back ran for a 4-yard touchdown with under 4 minutes left in the first quarter.

After the team’s inaugural touchdown run of the night, Commanders’ head coach Dan Quinn walked along the sidelines with a look of helplessness. He understands well that his players can only do so much to contain Saquon Barkley but beyond that, the only way to stop him is to pray.
