The UFC returns to the “Down Under” for the UFC 312: Du Plessis vs Strickland 2 PPV event, live from Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney Olympic Park. It goes down this weekend when Sean Strickland fights for the UFC 185-pound gold yet again. Dricus Du Plessis holds the current stakes to it. With fight week festivities is also back the ceremonial  “Embedded” fight week vlogs, one that sees Strickland in peril again!

UFC 312 ‘Embedded’ No. 1 sees Strickland do wheelies on a seemingly robust Kawasaki 450cc or above thread. However, ‘Tarzan’ goes flat less than a meter in…Big oof! He does that to himself and he does that every week. Fret not; the global UFC 312 PPV telecast won’t find Sean Strickland pulling out in bandages. Matter of fact, Strickland has hurt himself on the bike before as well.

Motorcycles are fun because they are fu——g scary. Every time you get on one, your b——- puckers a little bit, and you’re like, ‘This is real scary, but real fun’…

This one though, is too close to home. Strickland has been saying how Canadian leftists robbed him of a win at UFC 297 last year. He has been yearning to rematch Dricus Du Plessis ever since. Speaking of which, the champ is taking things more sensibly. After some ‘Sharknado’ stunts, DDP now went the Max Holloway and Co. way and tried surfing, but with training wheels on.

From a 6-speed Yamaha Tenere 700, a Harley-Davidson Low Rider S, and other such bonker monsters to a feeble wheelie is not Strickland’s alley. But when in the Australian Savannah culture, dirtbikes and failed wheelies are the way to go. Looks like UFC’s iteration of a GTA game-esque character needs some more practice on the wheels. For now, Strickland has other avenues where he desperately needs to channel such “excitement”.

Sean Strickland hilariously informed his ‘wars’ don’t live up to hype, by former champion, before UFC 312

UFC 312’s PPV headliner is to be a proper grudge match like none other. Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland went at it the last time. Aside from some of his more controversial opinions, Strickland is still able to divide the combat clique with the way he approaches a challenge. With ‘Stillknocks’ poking on Strickland’s childhood abuse, the duo went at it even before the fight.

However, the former champ’s dousing war and his actual wars differ a lot. Part of his pre-fight banter is a persona who promises a blood sport. However, Strickland teeps off with defensively-shelled boxing and spams the few goliath step-jab-jab-step buttons again. While a tactile standup game of running down rivals, it’s hard to answer or engage and is hardly interesting sometimes.

He does always talk about, you know, …‘Fight d***-to-d***, nipple-to-nipple, to the death!’ And then he does have his style, the way that he fights, which kind of, with respect, I’m not trying to talk sh*t, kind of conflicts a little bit, you know, it does. But, he’s an entertaining ba**ard leading up to the fight, at the press conferences, he’s one of the most entertaining people now…

Michael Bisping pointed out how there’s a glaring disparity between pre-fight and the actual Strickland. Whereas Dricus Du Plessis has a rather bold and awkward lead into it all. Fellow UFC commentator, Paul Felder agreed with this take. Strickland spammed his shelled-up boxing march and jabs to rebound at UFC 302 against Paulo Costa as well.

That was a fight that could have gone all too well given their natures. Costa too is prone to high-octane performances like those against Yoel Romero or Robert Whittaker. Felder though says it’s a good intelligent clickbait by the UFC 312 title challenger, because fighters go in thinking they’d have a dogfight against Strickland, whereas they end up in an awkward striking rundown.
