(Video) Steelers’ lack of fight exposed in embarrassing Wild Card game loss to Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers did exactly what their fans were worried about. The team made its fanbase optimistic about making a deep playoff run and then fell to their divisional rivals in the first round.
The Baltimore Ravens ran over the Steelers in the Wild Card Round, quite literally. Mike Tomlin’s defense had no answer for Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson as the Ravens finished with nearly 300 rushing yards.
However, explaining the 28-14 loss would have been excusable had it been convincing that Pittsburgh’s players gave it their all to win this game but a lack of effort on their part in the third quarter was shocking to say, at the least. As Baltimore was up 21-7, the defense took their foot off the gas.

Donte Jackson was caught lacking on national television
Their lack of effort was visible in a 2nd & 20 play with 7:17 to go in the third quarter. Lamar Jackson threw a pass to wideout Tylan Wallace and as he approached the first-down line, he had safety Minkah Fitzpatrick right on his tail but right in front of him was corner Donte Jackson.
Ideally, Jackson had the easiest shot in this situation and if he had turned on the jets, he would be able to keep Wallace from approaching the first-down line. However, it was Fitzpatrick who earned his money by taking the receiver down, and Jackson shoved him with a feather’s touch.
Pittsburgh was demoralized toward the end of the game. The team saw its chances of winning slipping and the Steelers were down 14 at this point. Eventually, Pittsburgh managed to score but so did Baltimore and thus, the team made its inevitable first-round exit as predicted by critics.
